The Sebel Twin Waters

We had a beautiful apartment for our 7 night stay that well exceeded our expectations. The grounds and pools are lovely and having the bonus of accessing the novotel facilities added to our enjoyment of the stay - the kids loved the lagoon activities and we thoroughly enjoyed our walk around to the poolside bar each afternoon. The kids also enjoyed spotting the kangaroos and the water dragons. The supermarkets (a smaller foodworks and larger coles) are all within 5-6 minutes drive from the accommodation and make it really easy to collect groceries for your stay.

We stayed in a four bedroom beach house in November this year. We actually loved the apartment, but the very first night we went to cook dinner and we had no gas. Not in the kitchen or for the bbq. We rang the office on the Sunday and they sent someone out straight away to fix it, which was good, but disappointing that we could not cook the meal we originally planned for. Then we tried to cook a meal Sunday night in the oven .... it did not work. Someone came out on the Thursday (five days after we checked in) to tell us that they would have to order a part. So for our entire stay, we did not have a working oven. We are a family of six and we paid a lot of money to stay in the four bedroom beach house, so not being able to cook some meals really was not convenient or acceptable. Also, we went over to the Novotel for my daughter's birthday dinner. The area where we ate was just lovely and five out of six meals were great. Unfortunately, one of our meals did not turn up. When we inquired as to where it was, they said it would be out soon. Half an hour later, when we had finished all of our meals, the meal finally came out. It was a chicken parmi. The chicken was cut into with gusto, as everyone else had finished their meals long before, only to find that the chicken was still raw in places. How unsafe to serve raw chicken! At the same time, a man came up to us and said that we had not paid for that meal. When we showed him the raw chicken, he took the meal away and never came back to us. A new meal came out maybe 10 minutes later. When we went to sort out payment, we were told not to worry about it. Normally I would not write a review like this, but I sent an email to The Sebel Twin Waters and the Novotel Twin Waters, addressing our issues over three weeks ago now and we have not heard back from either of them. A little bit of customer service goes a long way. It is very disappointing, to say the least.

It was a lovely stay. The room was nice and clean. It had enough stuff for washing up dishes, clothes, basic needs ect. Also another thing to note the staff were really helpful when we had issues with our door and the pool. They also provided our room with glasses so the next guest can use them. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Tip for guest: Ensure to bring some groceries with you and research your options for buying food before going. Same with entertainment for kids and bush walks.😀
